Before I went to the concert I had a meal in the city and I am going to give you one more chance to guess what I had! You need to apply some thought as to what a tourist would eat for a main course and pudding when in Vienna for the first time.
I walked past the Opera House again and they were showing the live performance of La Traviatta on a big screen outside. It looked fantastic.
I moved onto my concert at Musikverein. It was very much a performance for the tourists. There was a massive mix of nationalities. The venue was the star of the show although the orchestra and two opera singers couldn't be flawed. I won't waffle about it too much. It was mainly Mozart compositions several were familiar. The tenor and soprano were excellent, particularly the girl. They finished with the Blue Danube Waltz by Strauss.
It was raining when I came out. A bit of a shock but not far from the underground station.

Schnitzel followed by sachertorte? Mmmmm!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that you do look rather fetching in that dress and headscarf (not much good for a cycle tour though!).
