From - Chinon
To - Tours
Distance - 59hrs
Time - 5.5 hours
Today Richard has granted me (his brother - David), the honour of writing the blog. What an honour?
So, from the stats, you will gather that we have had an easier day from a cycling perspective.
Which after tackling the steep hills out of Chinon was true, as for the most part the route had us right alongside the Loire. Our luck has extended to avoiding any major detour on the route to date where the cycle path has been flooded. We've had about 3-4 occasions where we've had to turn round or taking other avoiding action.
The best feature of the today, is that we didn't get drenched even once.... what joy.
Other activities included a visit around Chateau Villandry, lunch (Richard recommends the rabbit) and a look around Tours.
In general, Richard does look prepared to surmount this cycle challenge / holiday ? I've been impressed with his fitness, planning skills and consumption of food and drink. Sadly, people haven't been kind with their comments about his legs. Also I haven't appreciated his random whistling either. Still after a while I tell myself it's just tinnitus. He has just told me that he's off to let the air out of my tyres...
Tomorrow, the forecast is for wall to wall sunshine, which we're both looking forward to immensely.

If you're looking for a place to eat, head for La Deuvalière (18 rue de la Monnaie) http://www.restaurant-ladeuvaliere.com or Les Saveurs (1bis place Gaston Paillhou) http://www.lessaveurs-tours.fr Both very good!!
